Episode 6: Rosie Cremer

In the finale of season three, I chat with Rosie Cremer, better known as burlesque stage sensation Rosie Rivette. While Rosie may be famous for baring it all, what clothes she puts on prove to be as revealing as what she takes off. Rosie’s colourful style references the great pin-up girls of the past, not just for their girly glamour but for their kookiness, curves, and comedy. And while Rosie may take inspiration from days of old, she offers a modern magic to both her personal and performance spaces by planning a little of the unpredictable, paying it forward, and providing a playful energy that always aims to please.

Nothing says fifties poster girl better than a pair of gingham pedal pushers. As such, I’ve styled Rosie in a pair sourced from the Wayside Chapel Op Shop and kept the look fiercely feminine with a pink bustier from Rotate and leopard print platforms from Rosie’s personal collection.

I was just this wild bundle of energy who believed in fairies far too late into her childhood and I think colours really encapsulated magic and good energy and I was just always drawn to it so I thought well if I put this stuff on my body, I’m magic.

Betty Page - I thought she was incredible, I thought who is this woman who is so cute and funny and confident but her body’s not the body’s we are pressured to look like.
