Episode 4: Evi O
In episode four of season two, I chat with Evi O, award-winning book designer and self-taught artist. Originally from Indonesia, Evi cut her teeth in design in the Sydney food publishing world, gaining a reputation for her clean-cut aesthetic, and balanced designs. She creates the kind of work that makes you smile and it’s this sense of ease and joy that she brings to her personal style, preferring effortless pieces in paired back colour palettes.

“I was always cheeky. I was always stubborn. I was 3 years old and I was putting on a hunger strike because Mum wouldn’t let me wear jeans, she wanted me to in a dress and I was like ‘nuh, I’m not going to eat, I’m not going to move.”
Styling
Tailoring to Evi’s easygoing style, I’ve kept things simple, styling her in some good old faithfuls like a white t-shirt, track pants and her own bomber jacket. By adding a silver chain necklace Ive kept her look a little street while adding a touch of my own shine.
