Episode 4: Carla Mico
In episode four I chat to Carla Mico, freelance Hair and Make Up Artist who frequents the sets of some of Network Ten’s most beloved programs like The Bachelor and The Masked Singer. Despite her diminutive stature you can pick Carla out of any crowd with her part rock-star, part fifties pin-up girl get-up. Now don’t let the jet black mullet and the studs and spikes scare you - these are just the edges that encase a little lady who is a delight to spend time with.
“I had a couple of cool uncles that were into The Ramones, The Police and Queen and they were cool to me so then it became cool.”
“I love David Bowie, like love. He led the fashions, but it always felt authentic. He felt quite individual.”
Styling
To showcase this little pin ups lovely legs, I’ve styled Carla in a shocking pink playsuit but given the look some rock’n’roll edge with animal print and stud details. Sourcing the vintage star earrings Carla wears and discovering her love for David Bowie AKA Ziggy Stardust, was pure serendipity.

“(My house) definitely was full of life, full of colour and that has really affected me - letting me be whoever I wanted to be. I don’t have to be that really dainty, pretty, florally young lady - I’m still definitely a lady but with a little bit of an edge.”
